Many businesses post on Instagram whenever they remember – and then wonder why nothing happens. Growth on social media comes from a clear plan, consistent posting and content that gives people a reason to follow you.
Define who you are talking to
Before you design a single post, describe your ideal follower: their age, location, problems and what they enjoy. Every piece of content should be useful, interesting or entertaining for that person.
Use content pillars
Pick three to five themes and rotate between them. For example:
- Educate – tips, how-tos and myth-busting.
- Show – behind the scenes, your team and your process.
- Prove – client results, reviews and case studies.
- Sell – offers, launches and clear calls to action.
- Connect – trends, questions and community posts.
A simple weekly rhythm
Aim for three to five feed posts and daily stories. A realistic schedule might be two reels, one carousel and one or two single-image posts per week, with stories used for polls, questions and quick updates.
Lean into short video
Reels reach people who do not follow you yet. Keep them short, hook viewers in the first two seconds, add captions and finish with a clear next step such as “follow for more” or “DM us”.
Engage, then measure
Reply to comments and messages quickly and interact with accounts in your niche. Every month, review your insights: which posts got the most saves, shares and profile visits? Do more of those, and drop what does not perform.
